Innovation
The Group considers innovative style and technology to be one of the principal critical factors of the success of the Aicon Group. To that end the activity of stylistic research and development and of design of the boats is carried out directly by our Style Center, which is under the management and coordination of Architect Mannino. The activity of research and technological development is carried out by the operators of the Technological Research Center and is followed and coordinated by the Technical Director.
The Style Center of the Group represents the heart of the Messina shipyard. It is this laboratory of ideas which gives life to the stylistic elements through:
a) the study of the forms and the design of the boats and of the main components not least of all on the organization and the character of the interiors;
b) the search for innovative uses of materials, of technology and of the productive processes used;
c) the formation of a wealth of knowledge decisive in the design of the new prototypes and in the management of the production in series;
d) the definition of the procedures of the production of projects, of presentation and of filing;
e) the training of qualified technicians in the sector.
The Technical Research Center was established in order to create innovative technological solutions able to characterize the processes of industrialization and the construction methods of the Aicon Group; in particular, the close relationship of collaboration with the university and the research centers, besides the projects already being carried out within the Group, are geared toward creating a technological platform capable of supporting the future processes and methods of construction with direct benefits on the resistance, on the reliability and on the duration of the components in composite materials, steel and wood used in the boats.
The main activities carried out by the Technological Research Center of the Group are:
- The careful study of the engineering elements (water lines, weight distribution, systems) in order to guarantee the quality, reliability and the efficiency of the product;
- The research in the areas of fluidynamics (advancement, stabilization and governability);
- The research into the accosting of materials and into the mechanical resistance of the materials (VTRVTRVetroresina. structures, bulkheads, flooring, glass, steel and wood components);
- Research into the aspects of soundproofing and vibrations (noise, vibrations, and sound frequencies;
- The analysis and the optimization of the quality perceived by the components of the boat (gelcoat, systems, interiors and steel)
- The improvement of the safety standards in the use of the boat (navigation and stay)
Finally, the Style Center and the Technological Research Center collaborate in the search for esthetic and engineering elements in order to obtain a project which is skillfully produced and coherent with the production of a small series but with elevated levels of exterior quality and construction typical of the Aicon boats.
